Mrs. Monteree Burrell Norton, age 89 of N. Hicks Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Oaks at Scenic View.
A daughter of the late Jesse Jonathan Burrell and Frances Mae Belle Loudermilk Burrell, she was born March 22, 1928 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County.  She was a retired homemaker and a member of Currahee Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon “Bud” Norton in 1982.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Randy Hilton of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Peggy Norton of Toccoa; three grandchildren, Lee Norton, Shannon Hilton and Cory Hilton; two great-grandchildren, Braiden Smith and Chipper Maney; brother, Garnett Burrell of Clarkesville; two sisters, Irene Peole of Chamblee, Georgia and Wilma Mullinax of Mt. Airy.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 20, 2017, 3 O’clock P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roger Elrod officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Walter Burrell, Greg Burrell, Michael Burrell and Lee Norton.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Online condolences can be made at
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Monteree Burrell Norton.

I am sorry to hear of Aunt Monteree's passing. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend her services. I do hope to see all of you at the reunion though. May she rest in Gods house.....
